In his first State of the Union address of his second term, President Donald Trump declared that “the state of our union is strong” to the nation.
The State of the Union is the annual speech given by the president of the United States to congress to express their administration’s view on how the country is doing and future plans for legislation.
For our write-to-us last week, we turned the podium over to you!
We had you write a “State of your School” speech.
You told us about your school’s strengths and achievements this year, and what you are doing to help improve it.

Its a great time at John P. Parker school we have Lion leaders. We also have spirit squad and kindness club. And a basketball team and Friday morning meetings. Also, many helpful teachers like Mrs. White and Mr. Marengo. We also have a security guard who is also the boys basketball coach Mr. Cobb. At the end of the year 5th and 6th grade travels to Canada.

Dear NewsDepth,
We all work together and we also get awards for honor roll and perfect attendance. And we need to get better at being more kind to others. And also clean up after each other. Also stop bullying other kids. And we also need to work on to be more respectful to the teachers.

Dear NewsDepth,
Our school strength and achievements have gone amazing this year. A way I can improve it to study hard get A's and make new friends and maybe a new way to improve the school is that kids' parents donate 5 books to the library every Monday. Parents should donate money so teachers can buy new tools.

Dear NewsDepth,
What we did is we donated 12,000 dollars for our school. Our goal was to raise 10,000 and we raise 12,000 dollars. Every time we donated, we get a different prize every time. That is what we have done to help our school this year.
