This week on the show: Gas prices, Tornadoes, Spring!

This week on the show:

Gas prices are spiking amid the war with Iran—What it could mean for your budget.
Anna whips through a whirlwind of tornado history in our state.
We stop and smell the flowers at Daffodil Hill.
Plus, a bald eagle was rescued in the Tahoe National Forest.

Global Supply Chain (noun): A worldwide network of production and distribution of goods and services

Co-op (noun): A business owned and controlled by the people who use its products and services

Enhanced Fujita Scale (noun): A scale that rates the tornados based on their wind speed

Hikers in California, with the help of wildlife officials, rescued a bald eagle that was found unable to fly.

The eagle was taken to a rehabilitation center for a checkup with the goal of getting it back to health and out in its native habitat again.

Our write-to-us this week will be a little bit different. The NewsDepth team is producing an Earth Day episode and we’ll be talking to a vet from the Cleveland Zoo.

But we need your help coming up with interview questions: Ask an animal health specialist about their job!

Students can use our inbox form online or send us an email to newsdepth@ideastream.org to send in their questions.

Spring is almost here!

Instead of focusing on being cold, and the snow, and the wind storms … let’s focus on the signs that warm weather is finally coming back.

The flowers are starting to bloom!

For our poll this week, we’d like to know: What are you most excited about this spring?

Students can choose between: warmer weather, spring sports, a school event, or spring break!
