Seventh grade science students in Mr. Caddey鈥檚 class at Bay Middle School are earning this week鈥檚 A+ Award for their innovative hydroponic gardening project.
Using nutrient-rich water, grow lights, and hands-on science, the students grow fresh lettuce from seed to harvest鈥攍ettuce that鈥檚 ultimately served in their school cafeteria.
Along the way, they鈥檙e learning not only about plant science and healthy eating, but also about problem-solving, reflection, and perseverance.
