Students in the Kent State Fashion Program were challenged to stretch their creative muscles, or should I say wings!
The Cleveland Museum of Natural History partnered with Kent State Fashion to create the Fashion and Feather exhibit, combining the history of bird feathers being used for hats and dresses with new ideals and technology: fake feathers.
Students were tasked in creating a dress that resembled or embodied the spirit of a bird of their choice.
The exhibit as a whole is meant to enlighten and dazzle. Learn about history while seeing what the younger generation of artists can bring to the space.
"A good way to get them to start (being involved in conservation) is through art and through beauty." Tobias Davidson, a Kent State Fashion Student said.
