While city council's chief of staff told ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ that there were "bomb threats" at city hall in July, council leadership has denied this. President Margo Sommerville said there were "credible threats" against the city's administration.

The council hopes the new position will increase transparency, provide more proactive communication, and improve customer service.
