Educators at the National Inventors Hall of Fame STEM Middle School say the work at the zoo is just one of many projects that better the community and help kids learn.

The STEM lessons are offered by two students at University School who created their own nonprofit to encourage students of color to pursue science, technology, engineering and math careers.
