Learn with Dr. Kristen Lukas, director of science and conservation at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo about the science of animal conservation as well as endangered species!
Endangered species are animals that are threatened by different factors like habitat loss, urbanization, hunting, and more. These threats mean that their populations decrease, meaning eventually these species could go extinct, meaning they no longer have any animals of the species living on the earth.
The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo works with conservation partners to help fund research for the zoo animal's counterparts who live out in the wild to help care for them and learn how to better protect them as a species.
