The lawsuit alleges students and hosts' First Amendment rights were violated by the university after an agreement transferred the programming of the radio station to ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ in October 2025.

The two organizations entered into an operating agreement on Oct. 3 to switch the format of 89.3 WCSB to the new terrestrial home of ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ's 24/7 jazz service. The decision and communication to students has been criticized by fans of WCSB.
