Tour Ohio through photos
From the Fairport Harbor Lighthouse overlooking Lake Erie to Cincinnati’s iconic Union Terminal, take the scenic route through Ohio’s rolling hills and vibrant cities with photographers from around the state. opens Saturday at Penitentiary Glen Reservation in Kirtland. Mingle with members of the Western Reserve Photographic Society to talk about landmarks you may know or have yet to discover from noon – 4 p.m. The exhibit runs through May 10.
Raptors of Northeast Ohio
Another great asset of our state is its wildlife. Did you know there are 19 species of raptors roaming the Northeast Ohio skies? That’s not even counting the one in roller coaster form at Cedar Point. You might know them as owls, eagles, hawks and falcons, to name a few. Learn more about these birds of prey from photographer Matthew Valencic of the Audubon Society of Greater Cleveland. He’ll give a in our region at the Dunham Tavern Museum on Euclid Avenue Sunday from 2-3 p.m.
Celebrate St. Patrick
Feeling lucky? Then grab your green top hat (and let’s be honest, probably your winter coat) and follow the rainbow to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in style. Catch Saturday followed by an Irish afterparty at the Akron Hibernian Club. If kegs and eggs are more your style, make your way to Front Street in Cuyahoga Falls from noon – 8 p.m. for the . Festivities continue Tuesday when steps off at 1 p.m. from the corner of Superior Avenue and East 18th Street Downtown.

“The Summer Wind” arrives early as the Youngstown Symphony pays tribute to the man who did it “My Way” – Frank Sinatra. The orchestra welcomes acclaimed vocalist Tony DeSare to the stage. He mixes his new school flair with the old school class of one of America’s favorite crooners. “Strangers in the Night” are sure to become friends as this 7:30 p.m. swinging in Youngstown.
A life ‘In Transit’
Canton resident Joe Ostrowske runs a trucking company by day, but outside of the office he’s frequently with a paintbrush in his hand. Ostrowske discovered a love for abstract painting during the pandemic and quickly became known locally for his vibrant, energetic works. His latest solo exhibition “In Transit” opens Saturday with a reception from 5-9 p.m. at and remains on view through April 18.
