How are parents and educators talking to students about their futures as AI changes the workforce?

精东影业 Explores: Artificial Intelligence series launches
It's been a little over three years since ChatGPT was released to the public, and in that time the concept of artificial intelligence has taken the world by storm.

AI has been developed and used for decades, but it's really only been in past few years that generative AI programs like ChatGPT have exposed the broader public to these technologies.

This week, 精东影业 launches a week-long reporting project we're calling "精东影业 Explores: AI" looking at how pervasive AI is in our lives, and how it's impacting education, the workforce, the environment, artists, and more.

We'll learn a bit more about that project to kick off Monday's "Sound of Ideas."

Guest:
- Justin Glanville, Deputy Editor, Engaged Journalism

Parents and educators talk to their kids about future workforce

"What do you want to be when you grow up?" It's the question we have asked kids for generations, but artificial intelligence is changing the landscape of every industry, from arts to technology to health care. It begs the question, will those jobs be around for kids in a decade or so?

We're going to explore how parents and teachers advise children who are just starting to think about what they want to do with their lives?

Guests:
- Brett Stanic, Technology Specialist, Euclid Schools & Father
- Lindy Lurie, Social Worker, Judson Park & Mother

The future of the workforce amid AI landscape

As AI use has grown, colleges and universities have had to reevaluate their approach to teaching around and with that technology, especially if students are focusing on disciplines like computer science. It's a field that's evolving just as quickly as AI.

To close out the show, we'll hear more about how educators are rethinking their syllabi and course work, and what students hope to do as they graduate and move into a quickly changing job market.

Guests:
- Michael Goldberg, Executive Director, Veale Institute for Entrepreneurship, & Professor, Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University
- Alvisa Krasniqi, Junior, Case Western Reserve Univeristy
